| | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | I would check for a bad bearing in the distributor the rotor should never be cutting into the cap that would also cause the points to "bounce" and You would not get any spark . take the cap off and grab the rotor and try and push it side to side and then crank the engine over with the starter and watch the rotor if there is ANY side play You need to rebuild the distributor ,or get a rebuilt one .
