Doug, search around in here for topics re: patching panels/suburbans. We/I have discussed the many ways to address the areas you mention. All of the TF panel and Suburbans are rusted somewhere down there. The doors and forward areas all have aftermarket repair panels avail. Get familiar with LMC, Brothers, American Clasic Truck parts, and so on. and Ebay and Craigslist. The panels Gmoniz is speaking of are very reasonably priced!!
