I just got a 57 GMC Panel! A long time desire indeed! It has the origial running gear, 6 cyl. I have the Original air cleaner, there is a voltage regulator, a generator that looks just like the ones in the show truck pictures I have seen.
It's problems are; the front fenders lower aft corners are bad, the bottom of both doors are bad, the sheet metal around the upper door hinges has rusted through, the window guides are all shot, the one seat (driver's) has no covering and the back came free of the seat.
It was a delivery truck so there is only one seat, no arm rest on right side door. The lower sheet metal at the pinch weld from aft of the doors is rusted through on both sides all the way back to the bumper. Rear doors seem to be in good shape.
I will be going through the brakes and electrical systems.
I have a blaster and paint equipment, I do not know if the engine runs.
Any input on how to proceed would be appreciated.
