There are many differences between cars & trucks, models & years. It justifies keeping engineers on the payroll. Many auto transmissions are set up in a similar manner. Instead of a rod from the sift arm on the column directly to the trans it has a rod to a bellcrank on the frame or bellhousing and another rod to the trans.
