I have a 230 in a 1954 Chevy Truck (PO did it, I know) the heat riser was stuck in the closed to exhaust position, I now am in the process of trying to smooth the operation of the heat riser. I am getting close. The heat riser spring needs to be replaced. How do I replace, it is between the manifold and the counter-weight. Does the weight come off?? Also how does it hook to the shaft itself?
If it was like the earlier 235's on the opposite side of the manifold from the weight this would not be an issue.
