If you've got it apart and are thinking about doing something with the tranny- I highly suggest a t-5 or something along those lines that'll work for your application- ie nv4500 if you've got a bigger truck. The overdrive and lower ratios in 1-4 are very nice, and the swap is incredibly easy.
