My 1941/46 1 Ton Pick up has larger fenders than its 1/2 / 3/4 little brothers. Consequently new fender were very hard to find but I did.
I am using the original 17" split rims with 7.00/17 tires. I changed my rearend ratio to 3.73 so it could get out of it own way
I would suspect that the same can be said for your AD. It would be easier and more eye appealing to move up to a larger fender than try to cobble together 1/2 or 3/4 ton fenders.
Also with the larger size/capacity came a higher ratio rear end, probably 5.10 to 5.50.
