nope that's not it. I can get it to engage the pump shaft and the cam gear but I just measured the distance on an older 53 motor that I have and this new pump is definitly 1/4 inch longer. In fact it almost touches the cam gear. I'll just pull the pan this weekend and see what I've got goin on in there. Maybe Cevy Classics sent me the wrong pump. I thought they were all the same for the 235's.
