The 235 will fit, and what you have to do depends on the year. 54-early 55 is set up with the correct water pump, later models will need a short shaft pump if you run a mechanical fan.
If your truck has 8 bolt wheels, it should be a 3/4 ton.
Are you sure it's a 235? and not a 230?
