The speedometer on my 6400 is showing less than the actual speed. Does anyone have any suggestions? I had this problem once before with another vehicle,and took the speedometer apart and put some oil on it. Wrong: After that it registered too much speed, and bounced all over the place.
In addition to not registering the correct speed, the milage gauge is not working. It is registering the milage in 10ths, but the actual miles traveled is not changing.
Has anyone had any experience with a service that rebuilds the units? I know there are people who do this, but I don't like to send anything to someone I never heard of. Most people in the antique auto business are honest, but there are enough crooks out there to make me uneasy about strangers.
