For the engine serial number F0614J:
F=built at Flint.
0614=engine build date=June 14.
The J suffix was used for the regular Thriftmaster 235 from '57-'62 in the light trucks. I'm going to say that, based on the build month being given as two digits instead of one (06 vs. 6), which was a format change made in '60, yours is a '60-'62, and would have been originally installed in the C-10-20-30 trucks.
The distributor with part number 1112396, according my parts manuals, was specific to the 1954 powerglide-equipped 235 car engine. The 076 advance unit was used on '53-'54 & '58 car 235's, and the '53-'55 'Vette 235 (6 volt). The original GM part number for that advance unit was 1116076 as of '58, and it changed to 1925518 as of '68, if that is any help for cross referencing at your FLAPS. It may also be found under part number V-435, such as at
Vapinc. Edit: In a previous post you listed the block casting date code as F101, or June 10, 1961. That fits with my assessment above, and the build date of June 14.
