Unless you are an ace fabricator or have a close relative, friend, inlaw that is, you are going to find that finding chassis parts that actually fit your 62 frame will be difficult and expensive. As you may know, they had a different frame (the "x" frame) from 60 -62. The 63 thru 87s all share the same "ladder" frame. Your 62 should also have torsion bar IFS that will also be difficult and expensive to change which you might have to due to clearance issues with crossmembers and the new tranny, etc.... Most upgrade kits available in the magazines apply for A.D. trucks, T.F. trucks and then 63 on. 60 -62s are just left out. I've also found out the hard way that many vendors sell parts, listed 60 - 66, since the trucks "look" the same. They really don't fit 60 - 62. So I agree with Speeds' 1st suggestion..
