Not much really. I have a 1987 Ford LTL9000 with a 3406C, a 1998 Western Star with a 3406E and a 2005 Peterbilt with a C15. My family has been in the trucking business since my grandfather started in 1929. My brother is a HD mechanic for over 30 years and has worked on them all. I have 9 diesels on the place right now from a 3 cyl yanmar up to the 550HP 3406 in the Western star, and yes, even a 7.3 powerstroke. Cummins makes a good engine but, until the ISX came along, they just wouldn't pull like a cat. Doesn't make them bad, just different. Anyway, no, I didn't come here to defend cat it just happened to be a statement that caught my attention. Your right though, not many 17 year olds have rebuilt an engine. That and the fact that you are on this forum says alot about your character. Most are too busy with video games and trying to get their pants to hang around their knees. If you want to discuss heavy truck engines, feel free to PM me. This is a bit off topic here smile
