It did help. I managed to persuade it with an 8lb. sledge without taking the fender off. I figured I couldn't accurately swing it that far and guarantee that I didn't hit something wrong anyway. I started by crawling under the fender to swing it, but I could not control the left right of the swing, but I could control the forward back of the swing. And, left right would get me into the king pin opening and wreck it. So, I got out from under there and did it from the position I would use to remove a wheel. Then the left right made no difference. I could swing it about 30 times before I got out of breath. Moved inperceptably for first 100 blows, but quicker and quicker after that. I figure about 300 blows. Appreciated the tips very much.
