I have tried everything suggested so far plus a few others. I am in the process of stripping my third vehicle using these types of materials. They all have areas that they work better in than anything else. The thing I have used that is by far the best for most areas is a Norton Rapid Strip disc. Been a lot of favorable comments on this list about them- you can find them with a search. They come configured for many types power units. I am using the 4 1/2 inch discs on a grinder. They make a 7" one that is supposed to work even faster. They also make sizes for a "Paint Eater" and drill mounts etc. These strip paint, rust, whatever as fast as new sandpaper but you will go thru many packs of sandpaper for every disc you wear out. The best part is no gouging or heavy scratches- just nice shiny metal.
