I have Tom's very first Mini HEI in my 46 and have never had a problem. Also running the pertronix unit in my 47 coupe and no probs either, just think the GM HEI puts out a hotter spark.
And would never go back to a points set up, this modern stuff is pretty much maintance free.

It's easier to get forgiveness than permission!
