I take it you are worried about having to change wheels if you change brakes?
Somewhere close by is a post on a a type of brake shoe material that you can put on the Huck style brakes to improve stopping power. I will poke around and see if I can find it.
Are you running a 216 or something with more horsepower with the need for more brakes? Some may argue that Huck brakes are adequate for our trucks if we keep the stock engine etc.
I am running huck brakes on my 46 and did not mind them. Granted, I am not running in city traffic.
