the biggest problem I've run into with "rebuilding" carbs is loose throttle shaft clearance. you can probably install a kit in your carb,but if the throttle shaft is worn,you get a variable,intermittent vacuum leak,which will make it impossible to tune properly.Even some professional carb rebuilders overlook this part,so it's worth doing some research first to be sure re-bushing the throttle shaft is part of every rebuild. If Carbking is being recommended on this site,you can be pretty sure you'll get a quality rebuild there. These guys don't settle for cutrate work.
