New here. Am enjoying reading all the good stuff. Have a question of my own. Have a 50, and a 51 5 window 1/2 ton Chev. The 50 is all in parts. The 51 is running. At some point, someone has taken out the 3 speed and put a 4 speed in it. I have the 3 speed, and all the linkage. It still has the closed drive. My question is there is a cross-member installed at the tailshaft of the 4 speed. When I was taking the 50 apart, I dont remember there being a crossmember at that location.There was no transmission or drive shaft in the truck. The one that is in the 51 does not look factory installed. I would like to put the 3 speed back in the truck. Dont know if this crossmember is supposed to be there, or if the trans. hooks to the bellhousing and straight to the torque tube with no support. Thanks for all the good info you guys put out. Bob
