Yes, I was correct. DCA is the prefix for a 1.5 ton 1946 Chevy. Strangely enough, the 3/4 and 1 ton prefixes are ADCA. Go figure.
D = 1946
C = Vehicle Designation (Truck)
A = Flint
The DA's were passenger cars, the DB's were for 3100's with 3 speeds and the DC's were used in all trucks with both 3 and 4 speed trannies.
If you'd had a Babbit Pouding 235, you'd probably have a serial number starting with DD or DE.
