For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,379 | It runs fine and seems to have plenty of power,I cant time it normally since I cant see a ball in the flywheel and had run it too advanced for a long time but backed it off some so I will advance it back up a little and see if it helps. I cant set the float level to factory specs due to the carb sitting at too much of a angle,it looks like the motor is supposed to be lower at the rear more then what its at so I found a 54 235 in a junkyard that looks like it has a intake that the carb will set more level. Its a 57 truck motor in a 37 and the intake that came with the motor does not allow the carb to sit level so I dont know if the intake is for a car or a truck but the motor sits mostly level in the 37 and the intake was designed for the motor to sit down a little. I noticed a drop in mileage when I put in the taller gears but I never really paid that much attention to the gas usage before the swap so it could always been not so good. | | |
