the light switch needs a hot wire the same as on the stock diagram, the headlights get their power from the switch, other than skipping the regulator, there is no difference in any of the wiring with an alternator, you'll have to hook the red wires together that were on the regulator [I think one goes to the horn relay, which gets power from the ammeter circuit]] - just make sure all the other circuits are the same as the diagram [which you didn't need to buy, it's in the shop manual and online at Kieths!]
