I purchased a set of the 57 style brackets for my truck but from a car place.
Here is a picture:
ignition wire brackets Looking at some photos of other trucks it looks like:
1) the longest goes on top drivers side.
2) the triangleuar shape goes on top passenger side
3) the loose 4 wire holder goes on passenger lower rear and is free hanging
4) the mediun sized bracket goes off driver lower rear and is fixed to bellhousing mount to keep it out of way of shifter and exhaust.
I am kind of guessing on 3 and 4. One pic I have shows loose wire holder on passenger lower side. But I have nothing that shows the drivers lower side.
The 55-59 factory assembly manual shows a different kit. the 55 kit:
55 ignition wire kit And the two brackets that look the same are on the lower left and right to handle the wires. The little clips are for carrying the wires to the plugs.
But they were not used for 57 (I guess) and used the bananna guards (lower ignition wire supports) like these for 57:

Does anyone have an autoritative answer for a 57 V8 3100?
If I am going to go thru the troble of doing it I thought I aught to do it the "correct" way that it had for the 57.
