I've put a carb from a 302 on a 228 with an adjustable main jet, its works but not well as others have said. "More carb don't add fuel they add air. Engine vac adds fuel, too much carb- not enough fuel." You try then to add more fuel with the main jet -.
A smaller carb is usually better in most situations.
