LGriffin, I just reread what you wrote.
a bolt that had a stud coming out of the head
I missed the "head" part when I first read it. Sorry. There has to be a name for this type of fastener, but I'll be danged if I know what it is. Same as the main bearing bolt that supports the oil pickup tube.
