True to your handle, try "eliminating" the gasket altogether. Use Permatex "The Right Stuff". It is a rubber elastomer, not silicone or RTV. Get the kind that comes in a tube that will fit in your standard household caulking gun. It will take 3 minutes to apply and you are good to go. It is OEM on some Catepillar engine oil pans, according to what I have been told. The oil won't seep around the bolt holes like you get with standard gaskets and cement.
