I finally fixed my clutch squeak. It is actually easier that it would appear to be considering what you see when you look up under the dash.
1)disconnect the bolt located at the rear of the clutch shaft (the one going through the firewall into the clutch side of the master cylinder) from the rotating lever mounted on the clutch pedal shaft. This arm can be seen on the right hand side of the steering column.
2)remove the locking bolt clamping the lever onto the rotating shaft. The lever can now be removed from the rotating shaft. The end of the shaft is partially splined mating with splines in in the hole of the lever.
3)pull the clutch pedal to the left a small amount which will free the pedal from the rubber bumper stop. The pedal will now rize up decreasing the return spring tension.
4) disconnect the return spring and the clutch pedal and rotating shaft can be removed.

I found the bushings are either hard plastic or teflon. In spite of being fourty nine years old, they were still in good shape. Very little wear was seen on the clutch shaft. I lubricated the bushings and shaft with wheel bearing grease and reassembled.
No more squeak. It takes a little doing but only took about an hour of my time. There are drawungs in the factory manual and also in old MOTOR truck manuals
