Thanks Grigg. Like you say, it'd have made more sense for him to go ahead and used the outer plate to give it more support. He could have even had plates made to disguise the extra bolt holes. If the guy was himself a machinist it wouldn't have cost him much but you'd think he'd have engineered it better. To have all that done, on top of the cost of the rims, doesn't seem logical.
