For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | I didn't know about the change in the 3/4-ton axle, but since the question was about going to a 1/2-ton axle I think my answer is still good...
I've only owned one 3/4-ton and its been gone for years. It was a '47. There is a '54 3600 with a Hydra-Matic in my shop today (not mine), and if both where here I could examine the difference.
If I understand the description of the difference it sounds like the spindles would be the same for either one?
Was there a similar change on the 1-tons? I do have a variety of those I could compare.
