Somewhere along the way someone put Southern Yellow Pine in "Lucille" and it has seemed to have held up over the years. Of course she has been "garage kept" for a long time.
I've thought about changing mine out to another wood with more of a reddish tone. Just do what you feel "you" like.
I think someone told me along the way that the '40's era trucks came from the factory with pine beds. Don't know if that is true or not. Anybody know the answer?
