Why were you asking about the difference between a 2 and 3 speed? The only thing I can see being different is maybe the indicator layout itself. My '70 GMC has a 350 TH and it has no indicator assembly at all. as far as the nuetral, just keep count of the gears when shifting. it's the same layout as newer cars: from park, one click is reverse, two clicks is nuetral, three clicks is drive, four clicks is second, five clicks is first. The clicks I'm speaking about are the stoppers in the tranmission and on the column itself, and can be felt through the column when selecting a gear. When you shfit you should only have to pull the selector forwrad when moving from or going into park and from drive to second. Any other movments between reverse and drive will just click if you move the lever.
