Although I am now retired I still keep my CDL up to date. As for renewing it here in Ohio that is no problem,a little more pricey than a regular drivers license but thats it,no test unless you happen to have a HazMat endorsement,which means a test at each renewal plus a security check which cost about $100. I dropped my HazMat endorsement about five years ago,because I did not want to pay $100. for the security check.If I ever go back on the road and the HazMat is required,then whoever I drive for will pay the fee.
