Pull the valve cover and watch the valves move as you roll the engine over clockwise from the front. Get the #6 exhaust valve closing and the intake opening. This is known as "overlap", indicating that the #6 piston is at the top of the exhaust stroke. Now, look at the distributor rotor, and it should be pointing to the #1 cylinder plug wire. If not, rewire the distributor using the cap tower the rotor is pointing to as #1. The firing order, going clockwise, is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Button everything up and fire it up!
