I've got a rolling axle assembly - it is "supposed" to be off of a '67 or '68 - but you never know.
I had one numbers book in my hands, but could not find a match for the digits I found.
On the forward facing was:
CFO (CFD?)
90
3977323
I popped it open, and on the ring gear is:
3977334 10 41 376
Teeth count is 41 and 10 if I didn't go crosseyed.
Of course, the big question is, will this fit in my pumpkin? The rear end cover on my '56 looks much bigger than this rolling axle. The swap is likely above my abilities, but I guess first I need to know if the swap is physically possible.
I've got a buddy who suggests that it would be easier to swap the whole rolling axle assembly (which he's done before) than the pumpkin innards (which he's never done). Have not done any measurements yet, though.
Thanks for the help, guys.
