I own a 54 GMC 100 PU that came with a 261 Chevy engine when I bought it. I have rebuilt the 261 by having the cylinders bored out 0.030", added a Howard's M4F cam, Offenhauser 2x1 Intake and Fenton headers. I bought the Intake off ebay and it came with two Rochester B's, but I have heard so much about these carbs leaking amoung other things that I am looking into alternate carbs to use with my setup. I have a Zenith 228BV11 carb that came off a 1954 248 GMC truck and I was thinking of buying another one of these to use on the Offenhauser intake. The question is are these carb's a good match for my setup or should I be looking for a pair of 2bbl carb's instead? I am not overly concerned with originality, since my truck has a 261 in it already. Thanks in advance for any advise you can give me on this subject.
