1957 was the first year for the 283 engine and it was the only 283 engine to have no side motor mount bosses. All motors from 1958 up have the side motor mount bosses.
In 1955 the 5000 series LCF's used the 265 V8.
In 1956 the 5000 and 7000 series LCF's used the 265 V8 and the 9000 series LCF used the 322 V8.
In 1957 the 5000 and 7000 series LCF's used the 283 V8 and the 9000 series LCF used the 322 V8.
