Have been looking over craigslist and seems 454s are more available and generally better priced. Two options here:
73 3/4 ton 2wd pickup with turbo 400 trans, rebuilt 454, looks to be in good shape and should be drivable for awhile asking $1600, OR 454 complete with all accessories and 700 trans with 60k miles out of wrecked 86 motorhome asking $800.
First option has complete drivetrain and is driveable and should be able to resale all sheetmetal when drivetrain removed, second option is 1/2 the price but no rear axle or front IFS. Either way will be tough squeezing out the bucks but the first seems to make more sense. What do you guys think?
