I removed the yoke from the front of my 53 6400. Behind that is a housing with 6 bolts holding the oil seal. Behind that is a large cover, not the pumpkin cover, with @ 10 bolts. I was thinking about taking that cover off so I can sand blast it. Is there a trick to taking it off? I removed the bolts but it doesn't seem to want to lift off. Also, is there a gasket between the front cover and the rear axle? I can't lift it high enough to tell.
