the coil in my 51 gmc looks identical to the coil on my Jacobsen Garden tractor. They are absolutely identicla. Delco-coils. And I know at advanced auto you can buy a coil that looks the same for about 10-18 bucks. My question is: Are coils specifically 6 or 12 volt? As long as it looks the same, is it right to use? My coil is bad, I have no spark and I want to get a coil but don't know if I can get one if i say I need a 6-volt. Or is there even a need to specify? I just don't know anything about electricity.
