Hey 53guy - If you are not sure of the condition of that 235 or what oil was used in it, I suggest 30W Non- Detergent. It's warm over there in Hawaii right? Straight 30W will be fine. I agree with tclederman that the detergent oil will loosen up all the old gunk and circulate it thru the motor, then you got real problems.
