I'm guessing those were add ons. I've seen other trucks where this was done.
If you're after originality, you'll probably want to take them out. On the other hand, if the job was done neatly, and you're OK with them, leave them in there.
As Coilover mentioned, you can convert the parking lamps and put the turn signals up there.
