i started my 55 in the garage about 15 years ago with the door to the kitchen open..before we moved in..it took a week for "that" smell to go away. I've written posts about "that" smell also. It's a unique smell..gets in your clothes too..Not sure why it's so different smelling..possibly beause the unburned gases etc are not being reburned thru the carb.
