I'm brand new here. I've got a 1949 GMC farm truck with I believe a 228 cu in engine which was run hot by the PO and is now broke. I can pick up a pretty good '78 292 strait 6 for a couple of hundred $. Is there any reason I shouldn't swap this in? The Gmc has a front motor mount instead of the side mounts. I don't think that's a big deal. The length is about the same. I'm guessing the bell housing interface is the same.
Will this work? Anybody out there done this?
