In working on my '63 C20 I decided to bite the bullet and replace the wiring in the cab. At first look everything appeared okay, but this week I started pulling the old wiring and I was very happy with the decision to replace it all. I found several wires with broken insulation and when I removed the dimmer switch it fell apart in my hand. The connector going to the dimmer switch was also melted on the bottom. Talk about peace of mind with new wires!

As a side note, I ordered all my wiring from Classic Parts. I just went with the reproduction harnesses since I just want to keep it original style at this point. All the harnesses are the right length and I'm very pleased with them. The only surprise was that there was no connector to plug the dome light harness into the fuse box. No big deal since the original connector was easy to remove and slap on. There were some minor color differences in some of the wiring, but it's a pretty small issue there. Now to get the cab washed up so I can get all the new stuff installed...
