every time i tried to do it, i found out it was too expensive, and too hard. like getting a judge to award it to me- absolutly silly. just call with the vin before you buy iy to make sure it wasn't stolen or not in system, then go thru a title company- unless you live in a state where the dmv uses their brain. none of these junkers sitting in a field are going to be stolen! if they are the owner doesn't want them back or pay back taxes on them anyway.
