Being too old to do a lot of math, I can a least extend a concept. If the length of the connecting tubes were equal,as were the dias., we could calculate a flow. factor in the resistance of the filter,and the 3/32 orifice, and arrive at a modified flow rate.It still seems to me to be a pitiful rate of oil that is being filtered, unless pre-design called for a pathetic filtering rate. The supply point for this filter is at the top of cylndr head, whilst the remainder of the pump output supplies the rocker rail. I'm still not convinced that opening this orifice a little more would be harmful. What is the design output psi of the oil pump?
