87's are not the famed "vortec" heads. Those are '96-2000 truck heads unless someone swapped them.

If you keep it EFI - you need to either have an external fuel pump with a return line to the tank, or you can simply create a fuel reservoir where the in-tank fuel pump sits in and you run the return to that. do a google search on EFI conversions, or check out www.jagsthatrun.com and buy their book.
