It looks like from the 4 main bearings, distributor location, bore & stroke, single side cover, and separate oil filter that I have a 235 block.
I have to conclude that either the casting number shown on the Inliners and ChevyTalk websites that show 3789716 as a 63-72 292 engine is wrong, or as Roadmarks suggested, the factory messed up and used the wrong mold.
