I asked this question over in the Electrical Forum and never got a clear answer so I'm trying here.
Is there any way you can tell the difference between a 6v and 12v heater motor? The one I have wasn't hooked up but it does have plastic/rubber coated wires, not cloth. When I hold the wires to a 12v battery for a few seconds it runs and doesn't start smoking or anything.
I'm electronically illiterate and needing some help on this before I commit to installing my heater.
