For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 26 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 26 | I had a problem last fall where the starter would not engage fully, then would stick when i finally go it to engage. This resulted in killing the starter. Brand new starter at NAPA for $100 w/ lifetime warranty. The reason i was having this problem was because the front cab mounts rotted and the cab tilted forward, causing the starter linkage to work wrong. The quick fix was cut the linkage and shorten it to work. This weekend i plan to pull my front clip to fix my cracked block, i figure theres no better time to fix the cab mounts than when the clip is off. Luckily i have a spare linkage.
